Terms of Service
Effective date: October 22, 2026
Welcome to ShareTens. ShareTens is operated by RyanKing, LLC, a Pennsylvania limited liability company based in Allentown, Pennsylvania (“ShareTens,” “we,” “us”). These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are a binding agreement between you and RyanKing, LLC about your use of the ShareTens website and service at sharetens.app. By creating an account or using ShareTens, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use ShareTens.
1. What ShareTens is
ShareTens lets you make and share ranked lists of your favorite things (movies, shows, books, music, places, quotes, photos, gift ideas and more), see other people's lists, follow people, add friends, and react to and comment on lists. You can choose whether each list is public, friends-only, or private. ShareTens is currently free.
2. Who can use ShareTens
You must be at least 13 years old to use ShareTens. If you are under 18 (or the age of majority where you live), you may only use ShareTens with the permission of a parent or guardian, who agrees to these Terms on your behalf. If we learn that someone under 13 has an account, we will delete it (see our Privacy Policy). By using ShareTens you confirm that you meet these requirements.
3. Your account
- You need an account to create lists, follow people, add friends, comment, or react. Give accurate information and keep your password secure. You're responsible for activity on your account.
- You must verify your email address before you can post or connect with others.
- Your username and profile (name, bio, photo) are public.
- One person per account. Don't impersonate anyone or create accounts to get around a suspension.
4. Your content
“Your content” means anything you post: lists, sublists, list items and notes, links, photos, comments, reactions, and profile information.
- You own your content. ShareTens does not claim ownership of it.
- License to ShareTens. So we can run the service, you give RyanKing, LLC a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, copy, display, format and share your content on ShareTens and in previews of ShareTens links, according to the visibility you choose. This license ends when you delete the content, except for brief backup copies and content others have already shared or copied.
- Visibility. Public lists can be seen by anyone, including people who aren't signed in and search engines. Friends-only lists can be seen by you and your accepted friends. Private lists are for you only. Anyone who can see a list can also see its comments and reactions.
- You're responsible for what you post. Only post content you created or have the right to share, especially photos. Don't post photos of other people without their permission, or anyone's private information.
- We don't pre-screen content and don't endorse it. We may remove content, limit its visibility, or suspend accounts at our discretion if we believe it breaks these Terms or the law, or puts users or ShareTens at risk.
5. Fan and character content
ShareTens includes “Character Picks” and other fan content: lists and commentary inspired by fictional characters from TV shows, movies, books, games and other works. Some of it is written by ShareTens and some by users.
- Unofficial. Fan content is unofficial commentary and opinion. ShareTens and RyanKing, LLC are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the creators, studios, networks, publishers, or actors connected with any character. Character, show and film names are used only to identify what the commentary is about, and all related trademarks and copyrights belong to their owners.
- Not the character's own picks. Lists reflect what ShareTens or our users think fits a character. They aren't statements by, or official preferences of, the character, the creators, or any actor. Some lists are written in a playful imitation of a character's voice; that writing is fan commentary by ShareTens or our users, not by the character's creators, and product and merch suggestions are always ShareTens's own picks, never recommendations by a character, studio, network, or actor.
- What you may not post in fan content: images, stills, clips, posters, or logos from a show or film; scripts, transcripts, song lyrics, or more than a brief quote; photos, names used to suggest endorsement, or likenesses of real actors or other real people; anything that impersonates a real person or suggests a studio, network, or actor sponsors or approves ShareTens or any product.
- Affiliate links. Gift and product suggestions on fan pages may contain affiliate links (see section 10). They are fan suggestions and are never products endorsed by a character, studio, or actor.
- Removal. We may edit, remove, or limit fan content at any time, including when a rights holder or a real person asks. Rights holders can use our Copyright process or the Report button.
6. Things you may not do
- Harass, bully, threaten, dox, or abuse anyone, or post hateful, sexually explicit, or graphically violent content.
- Post anything that sexualizes minors. We report such content to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and law enforcement.
- Post anything illegal, or content that infringes someone else's copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, or other rights.
- Spam, scam, or mislead people, post undisclosed paid promotions, or post malware or harmful links.
- Scrape, crawl, harvest, or copy ShareTens's content or users' data by automated means (bots, scripts, scrapers), except search engines indexing public pages under our robots.txt rules.
- Copy, reproduce, or imitate ShareTens's design, look and feel, code, text, or other content, or build a competing service from it.
- Try to access accounts, lists, or data you aren't allowed to see, or get around ShareTens's security or privacy settings.
- Interfere with or overload the service, or reverse-engineer it except as the law allows.
- Use ShareTens for any unlawful purpose.
7. Reporting content
If you see content that breaks these Terms, please report it using our contact form and choose “Report content,” including a link to the list, comment, or profile. We review reports and act as we think appropriate, but we can't promise a particular outcome or response time. List owners can also delete comments and reactions on their own lists. To report copyright infringement, follow our Copyright & DMCA Policy.
8. Copyright complaints
We respect intellectual property and respond to notices of alleged copyright infringement under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA). See our Copyright & DMCA Policy for how to send a notice or counter-notice. We disable the accounts of repeat infringers in appropriate circumstances.
9. ShareTens's property
ShareTens, including its website, software and code, design, look and feel, graphics, curated content (such as seasonal lists), and the ShareTens name and logo, belongs to RyanKing, LLC and is protected by intellectual-property laws. These Terms don't give you any right to use our name, logo, or brand. You may share links to ShareTens pages. If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them without any obligation to you.
10. Affiliate links and third-party sites
Some links on ShareTens, such as gift-idea shopping links, may be affiliate links. If you buy something after clicking one, ShareTens may earn a commission, at no extra cost to you. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. This does not change which items appear or how they are ranked. Links to other websites (for example, stores, IMDb, or links people add to their lists) take you to sites we don't control. We aren't responsible for their content, products, or privacy practices. Movie and TV information is provided by TMDB; ShareTens is not endorsed or certified by TMDB.
11. Ending your use
You can stop using ShareTens at any time, and you can delete your lists and comments yourself. You can delete your account yourself from Edit profile (“Delete my account”). We may suspend or end your access, or remove content, if you break these Terms, if required by law, or to protect ShareTens or its users. We may also change or discontinue all or part of ShareTens at any time. Sections 4 (license for content already shared), 8, and 11–15 continue after your account ends.
12. Disclaimers
ShareTens is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don't promise the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that content will always be available or accurate. Content posted by users reflects their own views, not ShareTens's.
13. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, RyanKing, LLC and its owners, members, and agents won't be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of (or inability to use) ShareTens or from any content or conduct of other users. Our total liability for any claim relating to ShareTens is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the past 12 months (ShareTens is currently free) or US $50. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not fully apply to you.
14. Indemnity
If you break these Terms or the law, or your content infringes someone's rights, and that leads to a claim against RyanKing, LLC, you agree to cover the reasonable losses and costs (including reasonable attorneys' fees) that result, to the extent the law allows.
15. Resolving disputes
- Talk to us first. Before filing any claim, you agree to contact us through our contact form with a description of the problem and try in good faith to resolve it informally for at least 30 days. We'll do the same.
- Small claims. Either of us may bring an individual claim in small-claims court if it qualifies.
- Individual claims only. To the extent the law allows, claims may only be brought on an individual basis, not as a plaintiff or class member in any class, collective, or representative proceeding.
- Time limit. To the extent the law allows, any claim relating to ShareTens must be filed within one year after it arises.
16. Governing law and venue
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and applicable United States federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Except for small-claims matters, any dispute relating to these Terms or ShareTens will be brought exclusively in the state courts located in Lehigh County, Pennsylvania, or the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, and you and we consent to their jurisdiction.
17. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make important changes, we'll update the effective date above and let you know on the site or by email. Changes won't apply to disputes that arose before they took effect. If you keep using ShareTens after changes take effect, you accept the updated Terms.
18. General
These Terms and the policies they link to are the whole agreement between you and us about ShareTens. If any part is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. Our not enforcing a provision isn't a waiver. You may not transfer these Terms; we may transfer them in connection with a sale or reorganization of ShareTens.
